Tips to Sleep Well on Planes

Not all passengers have the ability to get sleep during a long travel.  Most of them feel tired upon boarding due to lack of sleep and rest.  Apart from discomfort, there are other factors that cause not being able to sleep.  There may be noises from children or from videos and it could be that some passengers keep on moving.  Below are some tips which can help you during a plane travel.

Pack lightly.  If you bring much, that will also limit your space and you will not be able to move freely, especially your legs.  You can place your bag in the overhead compartment and put your necessities in a small carry-on which you place in the back of the seat that is in front of you.

Stick to water.  Refrain from taking caffeine before you get on board and while on board.  Just take water or juice and forget the coffee in the meantime.

Get the best seat.  One of the most important factors that will affect how well you sleep is your seat.  If possible, choose a window seat so that you will be able to lean.  Avoid sitting in the last row since restroom is often located on that part of the plane. Also, refrain from sitting in front rows as it is noisier due to the engine.

Find comfort. This can be done by reclining your seat; however, consider the person at your back.  You can ask permission by simply looking at them courteously.  Some are also comfortable by removing their shoes as this will help for proper circulation; however, it is recommended to wear socks. You may also bring a neck pillow.  This  will support both your head and your neck.  It will make you feel comfortable and can help you get sleepy.

Give yourself enough time.  Before the plane landed, make sure that you are already prepared. Wake up before reaching your destination.  If possible, set your alarm 30 to 45 minutes before you land.
